PSYCHOLOGY FOR COACHES AND ATHLETES
Psychological process shapes all athletic behavior and directly, even dramatically, affects sports performance. Understanding key principles which bear on sports, and learning interventions based on them can increase coach effectiveness and fulfillment. Because of the vital role played by coaches in an athlete's development, athletes, their teams, and their sports ultimately benefit when coaches acquire knowledge and know-how stemming from sport psychology.This is the answer to the question.

While special attention is given to bowling, examples are drawn from a range of sports and the instruction is widely applicable.
Our instructor and program leader, Eric Lasser, Ph.D., received his doctorate in psychology from New York University. Dr. Lasser has provided sport psychology consultative services for over 20 years. His clients are athletes, coaches, and their families; teams; and organizations. He is the team psychologist for TEAM USA, America's national bowling team, and is a consultant to professional bowlers on the PBA, PBA Senior and PWBA tours. His professional affiliation include: The Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology (Certified Consultant); The American College of Sports Medicine; and The Division of Exercise and Sport Psychology, American Psychological Association.
